Stage credits include: Ernest Hemingway in ‘Death of a Hunter’, Prospero in ‘The Tempest’, Job in ‘The Book of Job’, Becket in ‘Murder in the Cathedral’, MacHeath in ‘Beggars Opera’, Coriolanus in ‘Coriolanus’ , Subtle in ‘The Alchemist’, Judge Brack in ‘Hedda Gabler’, Gayev in ‘Cherry Orchard’, Krapp in ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’, Hamm in ‘Endgame’(online in lockdown) & Mr Manningham in ‘Gaslight’. He has also appeared on stage as Winston Churchill, Stalin, Enoch Powell & Charles Laughton. He has appeared in ‘Macbeth’, ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Midsummer Nights Dream’, ‘King Lear’, ‘Merchant of Venice’, ‘Measure For Measure’, ‘Taming of the Shrew’, ‘Soldier’s Tale’, ‘Façade’, ‘School For Scandal’, ‘Shadow of a Gunman’, ‘Last of the Red Hot Lovers’,‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’(musical), ‘Mare Liberum’ (Tusk Theatre, Netherlands), ‘The Bends of the Danube’ (Merlin Theatre, Budapest), ‘Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs’  & ‘When Knights Were Bold’ (both in the West End) & many new plays. He has appeared many times at the Finborough, including in its first ever production in 1980. TV credits include Robert H Jackson in ‘Speer und Er’ (Bavariafilm), and 2 series as Gumboil and others in ‘Knightmare’ (Anglia TV); he has also appeared in ‘The 10%ers’ (Carlton TV), ‘Lovejoy’ & ‘Strange Landscape’ (both BBC), ‘Lykkeland’ (Maipo Films, Norway) and ‘The Curse’ (Shiny Button, Channel 4). Films include: ‘Vesper’ (Natrix Films, Lithuania), ‘The Containment’ (Avanti Pictures, Mexico), ‘Spoon’ (Inspired Minority, South Africa), ‘Brothers Of War’, ‘Olive Green’, ‘With Love From Suffolk’, ‘Cradle of Fear’, ‘Lovelorn’ (Best Supporting Actor LA Reel Film Festival 2009), ‘Junta’ & ‘Afterlife’ (Cannes Short Film Corner 2014 & 2015 respectively) &  ‘You Need Help’ (Best Actor in a Comedy Westfield Film Festival 2019) . He played the title role in ‘The Judge Minty Fan Film’ (Several awards and over 1 million views on YouTube). Edmund is also a successful voice actor for commercials, games and audio books – he was the sole reader on the unabridged Gormenghast Trilogy.

Sarah Lawrie

Sarah Lawrie

An actress by profession, Sarah Lawrie began producing her own work in 2013 and has worked consistently as a producer alongside he stage career ever since. Most recently she produced the world premiere of ‘Scrounger’ by Olivier-nominated playwright Athena Stevens at the Finborough Theatre, ‘Edred the Vampyre’ by David Pinner for The London Horror Festival, ‘e-baby’ for Aequitas Theatre at the Brockley Jack Theatre, and ‘Death of a Hunter’ at both the Finborough Theatre and the 2019 Brighton Fringe Festival. Sarah was associate producer on Opera In the City Festival at The Bridewell Theatre (2017) and the So & So Arts Club’s Women & War International Festival (2016). To date, she has mounted four showcases of her own work as a performer: ‘Oranges & Ink’ (which she co-produced with A Monkey with Cymbals at the Tristan Bates Theatre and touring), ‘My Romantic History’ (Old Red Lion), ‘Madame Bovary’ (Hope Theatre), and Tree House (Tristan Bates Theatre and touring).  Sarah also co-produced ‘The Marvellous Adventures of Mary Seacole’ at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe and is currently producing and directing Rula Lenska’s new one woman show ‘From Dzikow to Willesden Green’.  As an actress, Sarah’s has worked extensively in theatre, including roles at The Citizens Theatre, Glasgow, Chichester Festival Theatre, Salisbury Playhouse, Oldham Coliseum, The Mill at Sonning, Perth Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and the West End.

Anthony Shrubsall is a freelance director and former academic. Theatre Direction includes The Return of Sherlock Holmes (Upstairs at the Gatehouse Theatre and currently touring), Power Luncheon (The Hope Theatre)The Good Dad (Golden Goose Theatre, The Hope Theatre and Old Red Lion Theatre), A Boy Called Porro {Pleasance Theatre), Edred The Vampyre (Old Red Lion Theatre), An Absence Of (Old Court, Windsor) winner of the Kenneth Branagh new writers award), It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play (0ld Joint Stock Theatre, Birmingham) Death of a Hunter (Finborough Theatre), The Gin Chronicles series (ArtsSpace Edinburgh), Orbits (Drayton Arms Theatre), RealLife TV (Barons Court Theatre) and Saffron Hill ( Pleasance Theatre), LANZA (Kings Head Theatre) The Seagull (Tabard Theatre),  Zena Edwards’s Security (Battersea Arts Centre) the first UK production selected for Tadashe Suzuki’s Shizuoka Festival, Japan, and Richard Tyrone Jones’s Big Heart, adapted into a series for BBC Radio 4. Online direction from 2020 includes : Love Screens (OnComm Award winner) and Death of a Hunter (OnComm Award winner), He has directed two short cross disciplinary promotional films of Shakespeare works Macbeth with Terry Deary, author of the Horrible Histories and Romeo and Juliet with Tate Modern.  He was formerly Artistic Director of OPEN Ealing Arts Centre and the Drayton Court Theatre, where productions included The BulletLandscapeThe Lover and Mojo.  He has published on directing Vsevolod Meyerhold’s acting technique, Harold Pinter’s Mountain Language, Samuel Beckett’s Rockaby and the theatre of Jacques Lecoq.  He is a member of Equity, The Chelsea Arts Club and Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
